Stephen is originally from Virginia, where he participated in many high school sports,  fostering his desire for his career to be in Sports Medicine. He attended The University of South Carolina, where he was a 2 time All American swimmer and received his degree in the #1 ranked Exercise Science Program. He then attended MUSC, where he received his PT and Masters degree. In his 30 years as a PT, he has received his Orthopaedic Specialist Certification and completed a 2 year Manual Therapy Certification from Kaiser Permanente.  In 2012, he received American Physical Therapy Association Outstanding Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant Team Award. He has also been a Guest Lecturer at the College of Charleston Sports Medicine program and MUSC Physical Therapy Program. He is excited to start his next chapter of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and Sports Performance excellence with long time friend and colleague Greg Banks.  Stephen has two children, Olivia and Kai.

Greg Banks

GREG BANKS, ATC, CSCS

Certified Athletic Trainer, Strength Conditioning Specialist, Sports Performance

Greg has been on the sidelines and learning the ropes of sports medicine and athletic training since he was in the 8th Grade at The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN. Since that time, he's worked with athletes from as young as 9 to as old as 78 to help them achieve their fitness and health goals. He graduated from The College of Charleston with a BS in Physical Eduction and in received his certifications as an Athletic Trainer and Strength Conditioning Specialist. He has used those skills in the clinic and on the field for the last 30 years, most recently with the US Women's National Soccer Team as Head Trainer and member of their medical staff for 16 years, supporting them in World Cup Championships and in the Olympic Games.  He is also owner of Competitive Edge Training, a sports performance and return to play company that works in partnership with Charleston Orthopaedics helping weekend warriors and elite athletes alike. Greg and Stephen Correia have been friends and worked together since 1994. Greg is a husband to Tara, father to Ethan and Brody and Ethan's wife, Lydia.
